It seems as though my R&B/Pop and Hip Hop dreams have finally come in to fruition, now that 2 Chainz and Ariana Grande decided to bless us with this bop "Rule The World. " The song brings me back to early 2000's R&B (amerie)- a happier more simple place. What makes this collab so special is that there was a perception that 2 Chainz and Ari had beef after the release of 7 Rings. It was rumored that the video and melody was ripped from 2 Chainz song. It was quickly settled when 2 Chainz hopped on the remix and now they are back again with this BOP! All in all thank you for the song, take a look from the video and let us know what you think?

Last night at midnight, the Jonas Brothers released a new music video, "Sucker", this is after they recently announced a tour and new coming music. Quite a surprise from the band after a six-year album hiatus, the group broke up in 2013 due to artistic differences. However they are still family, they've said in interviews they never really stopped writing music and playing together, just at home during family get-togethers. This announcement of new music garnered a huge positive response online. So watch the video, and look at how the "boy band" has grown up, featuring the real-life loves of the brothers: Priyanka Chopra (Nick Jonas' new wife), Sophie Turner (Joe Jonas' fiancee), and Danielle Jonas (Kevin Jonas' wife of 10 years). What do you think of the new song? Is this Jo-Bros return filling you with excitement or do you not really care? Do you think there will be more Kevin Jonas in your future?? As always, be sure to tune into WNJR to hear new music!Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6586061673336964983.post-47036023517736560092019-02-26T10:08:00.001-05:002023-06-08T23:29:22.362-04:00NEW MIX TAPE ALERT! If you don't know by now J. Cole has dropped a new single and it has everyone talking! Some regard the single as an anti-feud track while others regard it as J. Cole coming back to maintain his spot as one the greatest. He names it Middle Child because within the family dynamic people tend to forget the middle child but Cole made his declaration that he will not be forgotten or pushed aside. Cole makes references about not being concerned about the competition and if he did make a diss record it would no be for fame, money, clout, or recognition but just because he can. And not only can he make a diss record but he could also potentially ruin someone's career with merely his words. This type of rhetoric is not new to the rapper. He has been in feuds before with his song False Prophets. Cole is not the one to shy away from controversy and telling you how it is whether it is from doing drugs to beefs with the greatest.

Following in the footsteps of female rockers Avril Lavigne, Pink and Lzzy Hale, Cassidy Paris promotes girl power by bringing back female-fronted melodic pop rock.

Cassidy Paris has released her debut single ‘Talk About It’, co written by Canadian singer Paul Laine (Darkhorse, The Defiants, ex Danger Danger). The song brings back hooks and a very catchy chorus that will be stuck in your head for days. Cassidy goes on to say, “I can’t wait for my debut single to be released. I plan on playing live anywhere and everywhere, whether it be unplugged with my acoustic guitar or with my band plugged in and electric”.

Although only 15, Cassidy Paris has grown up with music from a very early age. Her dad, a musician himself has taught her the ropes by attending concerts around the world. With influences ranging from the classics such as Heart, Kiss, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, and Def Leppard to more recent artists like Taylor Swift (lucky enough to meet her idol Taylor Swift at the age of 8 years of age), H.E.A.T and Biters, Cassidy Paris is ready to make her own mark on music.

Cassidy has launched her single by playing a number of acoustic dates at a number of schools within Melbourne,

You can catch Cassidy's debut single "Talk About It" right here on 91.7FM WNJR Washington / Pittsburgh!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6586061673336964983.post-64800220827772191402018-05-03T12:47:00.004-04:002018-05-03T12:47:45.183-04:00New Artist to Watch: Kohli CalhounHey guys, before we leave for the summer I wanted to let you know about a new artist. Kohli Calhoun is a Brooklyn based singer songwriter, she had issues with a former producer who she left in 2008 which led to a personal dark period. She was helped by a songwriting community that got her back in touch with her artistic side again, and in the past year she put together a whole album and had it released. My personal favorite of her singles from that album is "Take me away" here is a video of her performing that song live:

If you want to hear more of Kohli Calhoun you can go to her website where you can see her tour dates. She'll be playing in Newark and Colombus Ohio which are both fairly close to Washington, so if you're interested you should go see her live in August. Or you can listen to WNJR and hear her on the radio anytime!

J. Cole's new album 'K.O.D.' brings light to the use of drugs, including those prescribed, as escapes from our realities. He speaks on the trials and tribulations that comes with being Black in America; police brutality, mental health stigma, addiction, and incarceration. J. Cole's reminisces about his life before and after stardom concerning romantic and platonic relationships. The album's lyrics are supplemented nicely with some psychedelic-like undertones. It's an album that deserves appreciation.
