Nighten-M A L E S

May is Male jazz singer month! I just declared it so.

Time to give the guys their due. Our Hi-Rotation jazz list for May is all Men.

So, Here they are Ladies and Gents!

                                                          'The Testoster-Tones.'

THEO BLECKMAN- His encomparable recording called 'Duet for One.' He seems to be singing in 2 separate voices at times. No tricks, no overdubs...just the human instrument.

TONY DEPAOLIS- Hidden away among the many great instrumentals on his release 'The Contemporary Dynamic'  bassist Tony DP turns in a lovely, tender vocal on this old undiscovered gem. 'East Side of Heaven.' Take that Bing Crosby.

BOBBY MCFERRIN- A masterly 'Round Midnight' from the film of the same name.

What time is it, Sir?

The other men highly rotating are:

AL JARREAU     MICHAEL SCHIEFEL   MARK MURPHY    BILLY BRANDT
IAN SHAW       KURT ELLING     FRANK SINATRA     TONY BENNETT
STEVIE WONDER    GIACOMO GATES     RAY CHARLES      TAKE 6

So, tune in during jazz hours and get a special treat of the....the music...the joy....the men of jazz singing!

The students in this semester's COM 360 Community Radio have all passed the written portion of Level 3 testing.  Air studio demonstration exams start soon, and this level includes how to use the turntables.  Vinyl records are making a big comeback--learn about how they are made by watching this video that AcousticSongs Live host Mitch Bell brought to our attention.
