Spotlight on India March
Global Perspectives with Joseph Jorjoliani and Aaron Walayat

On Last Friday's show Aaron Walayat discussed his study abroad in Hon-Kong and trips to other East Asian countries. He touched upon the history of China Hon-Kong reunion and Taiwan China relations. His remarks has been very informative and engaging. Did you know that Hon-Kong still remains a special administrative region in China and Taiwan a small island in Pacific Ocean is named Republic of China?
Mr. Walayat has traveled all around the world, beginning with his Magellan projects in Turkey and Spain, he reached Singapore, China, Japan, Cambodia and the countries most of us did not know existed.
Aaron Walayat is an International Studies major at the Washington and Jefferson College.

Gaming Den
Hey, Hey, Hey, Everybody
Welcome to the Gaming Den
Today I would like to finish off with the final transformation that is available in the game, The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask and that is the Fierce Deity Link. If you would like to learn about the other transformation masks you can find them here (Deku Scrub, Goron Link, Zora Link)
The only way to get this mask is to collect all 20 of the non-transformation masks. Then upon entering the final location you are able to play 4 mini-games and afterwards trade away the 20 masks to obtain the Fierce Deity Mask from the kid that has Majora's Mask.
The abilities of this mask are so great, you are restricted to using them during just the Boss Fights in the game. The weapon he wields is a double helix 2-handed sword, meaning that Link is not able to use a shield. But to compensate the sword shoots laser beams, much like in the older Zelda games.
There are many theories surrounding this mask especially since there is not much information as it is just given to you at the end of the game but one that I will share is that this mask may have been used as a transformation to Adult Link form. This is supported by the fact that each area of the game has some transformation but not the Ikana Canyon and this mask may have been used to get to higher ground or be more powerful. This also may be the case because the build and size of Fierce Deity Link is very similar to Adult Link. The other theories I will leave for you guys to find out.
Tune in Thursday's at 9pm to listen The Ravanator for Video Game Music inspired from Majora's Mask on wnjr.org or 91.7 FM

If the album cover doesn't get you intrigued, would telling you that Ceschi has combined hip hop with a little punk make you want to listen? Ceschi's Broken Bone Ballads introduces a new sound as he "bends genres" to give listeners a smooth, satisfying rhythm. With songs such as, "Say Something" and "Bite Through Stone", Ceschi's flawless lyrics prove that he deserves a spot in the hip hop game.
Don't just take my word for it though, check it out for yourself !!

Lime Cordial
Hanging Upside Down
Happy Monday! I wanted to make sure you guys were aware of the magic of Lime Cordial...and I'm not talking about the drink! Their new album was just released in January and I just got a hold of it last week in the studio. Hailing from the northern beaches of Sydney Australia (P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney?), this India Pop band is not necessarily fresh on the scene. They've already released two albums previously and toured several times. To learn and listen more visit http://www.limecordiale.com/ to find out what they're really about. My favorite song is "Famous". Happy Listening!

Gaming Den
Hey, Hey, Hey, Everybody
Welcome to the Gaming Den
Today I will continue the masked adventure through the third transformation of The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask. Want to learn about the previous 2 masks? Head over to my first post here about the Deku Scrub or here for the Goron Hero.
Today's mask is the Zora's Mask which allows you to transform into the lead guitarist and Zora Warrior, Mikau.
After rescuing Mikau from the sea, as he float unconscious, you find that he was trying to save the lead singer's, Lulu, eggs. They are part of the band the Indigo-Go's.
With the Zora transformation you are able to traverse the sea just as well as Link can traverse the land. This warrior is equipped with razor sharp fins which also double as a viable boomerang, even for collecting items that are far away. This transformation also has the ability to create a barrier of electricty at the cost of magic, which is very useful if you accidentally get swallowed up by a Like-Like. Also while you are swimming you are able to zoom at great speeds cloaked in an electric barrier, much like the Goron.
Unfortunately, the Zora transformation is weak to fire, much like the Deku transformation.
Want to learn more? Tune in this Thursday from 9pm to 10pm to listen to The Ravanator on 91.7 fm or wnjr.org

Jarell Perry
Everyone loves to listen to something new. For the "R&B lovers," I have found something for us! Jarell Perry is his name, rhythm and blues is his game (corny? yeah I know). His voice sort of sounds like ice cream on a summer day, I mean, if ice cream could have a sound. The point is, it's something everyone can enjoy. His smooth voice combined with his slow beats gives listeners a relax feel. His talent is undeniable as he makes every note he hits sound effortless. Are you feeling intrigued? GOOD! We have Jarell Perry right here on WNJR Radio! Tune in to 91.7FM for a listen.

This festival is a weekend long event featuring some of the top artists in the industry. The festival is know for its famous attendees such as Katy Perry, Rihanna, Madonna, Adam Levine, and so on. Coachella is so popular they had to split it into two weekends, the second one being just a few days away! The lineup includes names such as AC/DC, Drake, Jack White, Kaskade, and David Guetta, just to name a few. To read more on the festival check it out here.

Gaming den
Hey, Hey, Hey Everybody
Welcome to the Gaming Den
Today, I will continue on my talk of the transformation masks in the game, The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask. Don't understand what is going on? Head over to my previous post here.
The second mask you come around to is the Goron Mask.
This mask allows you to transform in to the once great Hero of the Mountain Village, Darmani. With this hero's skills you are able break boulders with a single punch, pound the ground much harder than Mario, and roll with great speed and strength, flattening enemies wherever you go. Unfortunately you can't leap over skyscrapers in a single bound, that is reserved for Superman.
The one fatal flaw of this monster of a fighter is that he can not swim for even if it is to save his own life. Which is unfortunate because I always find myself drowning right when I get the mask and I jump off of the cliff down to the pond below in order to test the rolling mechanic. *Sigh* Another thing I'd like to note is how his Super Spiky Spinny Mode consumes magic, like temporary almost invincible mode.
Also the tough hide of the Goron transformation grants protection from most fires and lava, but not Captain Keeta's fire wall, which is weird.
Want to learn more? Tune in this Thursday from 9pm to 10pm to listen to The Ravanator on 91.7 fm or wnjr.org

YouTube's Path To Discovery
YouTube's Path To Discovery
As many of you know, YouTube is a place that many artist or just ordinary people can display their talents for the whole world to see. Artist such as Justin Bieber, Austin Mahone, Carly Rae Jepsen, and many more have put up one simple video on YouTube, not realizing it would change there lives forever. One of the many artist that are currently on the rise to fame is Tori Kelly. Tori has been posting videos on YouTube since she was 14. She got signed at the age of 12 but because of conflicting ideas, she was released from Geffen Records. After posting videos, she did a cover of Frank Ocean's song "Thinking About You" with her friend Angie Girl. This video received over 22 million views and now she has over a million subscribers! She later auditioned for American Idol, but
did not make it to the top 24. She released her own album with her own record label and made it to the top ten pop albums on iTunes. Finally, Tori reached her goal and got signed to Capitol Records in 2013 and now is making new music everyday!

WNJR : On the Lookout for Spoken Word
"Every spoken word arouses our self-will" - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
WNJR can be classified as a diverse radio station; with genres ranging from Jazz to Hip Hop. Our staff has now been working to expand the collection of poetry and spoken word in order to add to the diversity of our station.
Spoken word can be described as expressive words over a calming melody. It can be relaxing, emotional, and personal. Spoken word not only allows the artist to channel his emotions into musical form, but it allows the listener to emotionally connect with the music as well.
If you know of any good spoken word artists, or if you are that artist, feel free to email your pieces to passion@wnjr.org.

Listen to Niyaz on WNJR 91.7 FM, Niyaz is an Iranian-American musical band, consisting of DJ programmer, producer and re-mixer Carmen Rizzo and a vocalist Azam Ali.
Niyaz means "yearning" in Persian, its music is described as mystical music with a modern edge. The music is very abundant, Niyaz adapts Persian, Indian and Mediterranean folk voices, including traditional mystical music and poetry "Rumi"(13th century Persian poet) with Western electronic programming.
The duo's debut album was released in 2005, it represented the combination of 13th century Sufi and Urdu (both language groups of Persia) poetry.
In their second album, members of the band featured two discs; the second disc was basically acoustic editions of the tracks on the first disc. Their newest album Sumud was released on March 19th 2013, with six songs.

Gaming Den
Hey, Hey, Hey, Everybody
Welcome to the Gaming Den.
In The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask, the main mechanic of the game is to use masks for different tasks. Of the 24 available masks in the game 4 of them are transformation masks, where donning such a mask initiates excruciating pain to ultimately transform the person into the other species/race.
One Mask is the Deku Mask, which allows you to transform into a Deku Scrub.
This transformation has many unique abilities such as skipping over water, shooting out harmful bubbles, or diving into a flower in order to launch out flying, able to hover over to anything within distance. One of the weakness of this mask is that when transformed your body is made of wood so fire will kill you instantly.
Want to learn more? Tune in this Thursday from 9pm to 10pm to listen to The Ravanator where I will talk more about the temple and boss battle of the first temple of the game with accompanying music.

No Small Order definitely creates an nostalgic atmosphere as soon as you hear the first track. Not only is there some dope 808's, but you can pick up on the other instruments as the instrumental flows through your ear. Don't get too caught up in the beats though, or you'll miss the bigger picture...the lyrics ! Pause has definitely set the bar for "new-old school rapping"; if you don't understand what I mean, check out No Small Order for yourself :)
