Faith Evans was born in Florida in 1970. She was raised in Newark, New Jersey by her older cousins due to her mother's young age. Faith first sang in a church at 3 and knew from that point she'd be a singer. After graduating from High School in '91 Evans had a child and would sing backup and do gigs to earn money. It all paid off when she became the First Lady of Bad Boy Records. She was not only the first woman signed to Sean Combs, but also co-wrote songs for Mary J. Blige and Usher in 1994. She later married Notorious B.I.G and it was a whirlwind from there. Evans then released her debut album featuring songs written and co-written by her. To learn more about Evans go here.
