Hey hey hey! We at the station hope everyone is doing well on this rainy Friday! Today we're spotlighting an amazing artist that has spanned decades: Ms. Faith Evans.

Faith Evans was born in Florida in 1970. She was raised in Newark, New Jersey by her older cousins due to her mother's young age. Faith first sang in a church at 3 and knew from that point she'd be a singer. After graduating from High School in '91 Evans had a child and would sing backup and do gigs to earn money. It all paid off when she became the First Lady of Bad Boy Records. She was not only the first woman signed to Sean Combs, but also co-wrote songs for Mary J. Blige and Usher in 1994. She later married Notorious B.I.G and it was a whirlwind from there. Evans then released her debut album featuring songs written and co-written by her. To learn more about Evans go here. Tune in here or 91.7FM to listen to her music. Below is her single Mailman from the movie Wild Wild West.

Parkland Mass Shooting: A Tragedy

On the afternoon of February 14, 2018, a mass shooting occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Unfortunately, seventeen people were killed and fourteen more were taken to hospitals, making it one of the world's deadliest school massacres. As school shooting become more frequent, I urge you to become more vigilant, whether it is vigilance in your schools or advocating your political views to the government. As the investigation continues, we continue to pray and send positivity to the families and friends effected by this tragedy. We stand with you.

Winter Tales XVI

This weekend, tonight, tomorrow Friday (23rd), and Saturday (24th) at 7:30pm each night, is the 16th annual Winter Tales! Student actors will be doing stage readings of short 10-minute plays that were written by members of the W&J community. Some are funny, some are serious, some are heartfelt, all are excellent. It's a free event taking place in the black box theatre at Olin. Come out one night and see what I mean. There are some WNJR workers as actors and Bill Cameron is directing! Come out, have a great time!
