College Radio Conference in NYC
Twelve students traveled with Professor Anthony Fleury to the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System College Radio Conference in New York City, 11-13 March 2011. They attended sessions on a range of topics, including fundraising, world music, sportscasting, digital archiving of music libraries, broadcasting careers, hip hop, and more. Funding for the trip was provided by National Endowment for the Humanities and W&J's Division of Student Life.

Al Jazeera English on WNJR
WNJR is now airing Al Jazeera English at 11:00 am Monday through Friday. The radio program is a one-hour digest of Al Jazeera's 24 hour news cycle, in an exclusive arrangement between the Pacifica Radio Network and Al Jazeera.
Al Jazeera English is the first English language world news channel to be headquartered in the Middle East. Launched in November 2006, Al Jazeera English seeks to present every side and every angle to its stories and act as a bridge between cultures. With unique access, making it the channel of reference for Middle East events, and 65 bureaus strategically placed around the world, Al Jazeera English provides independent and impartial news for a global audience, giving voice to different perspectives from under-reported regions around the world.

Spring Break
It is Spring Break at W&J. Classes, and WNJR-produced programs, resume on Monday 28 March. We'll be doing some upgrades at the station during break, so there may be disruptions to the automated music and syndicated programs during the week of 21 March.

Bring your Steelers memorabilia for the halftime autograph session!

Careers in Sports, Monday 7 March, 5:30 pm
Monday (7 March) at 5:30 pm in Yost Auditorium (Burnett building) W&J's Office of Career Services is presenting a session on Careers in the Sports Industry.
One of the panelists is our own Mike Reddy (W&J 2008) who now works for ESPN. He was a sportscaster for WNJR and a Communication minor. Show up to support Mike, and learn about his interesting career path.
